Bio

Hello! I am Mary Landon and I am a passionate, driven, and enthusiastic personal fitness trainer determined and eager to improve each and every individual’s physical health through the realm of exercise and nutrition.

I was born and raised in Auburn, Washington and consider myself to be a natural born athlete. Growing up I was actively involved in a variety of organized sports including: BMX racing, softball, basketball, and soccer (soccer being my main sport for 11 years).  One of my highlights of the high school years was winning the state championships 3 times on the varsity soccer team!

Being surrounded by the PNW also tapped into the adventurous wild spirit of mine, grew my appreciation and love for the great outdoors where I enjoy hiking, camping, climbing, biking, kayaking, and snowboarding.  Oh how I love traveling and being in nature!

In my high school years, I quickly recognized my keen interest for physiology and anatomy, biomechanics and kinesiology. I was and am fascinated with how the body functions and moves.

After high school, I went onto Highline Community College where I earned my AA degree.

At age 21, I married my high school sweetheart. Together we moved to Bellingham for a few years where I continued my education at Western Washington University.  There, I completed a number more of science related courses.  Then my husband and I changed course.  We bought our first own home and started a family. Eventually we settled into Tacoma, Washington where we had and raised our 4 kids.  I was a stay at home mom for several years and homeschooled them for 6 of the years.  My husband is also the head director of a non-profit homeless organization so I began volunteering and became regularly involved and still am today in a number of ways. Here I find countless opportunities to serve, support, encourage families and children, as well as mentor many women over the years.  Hosting, planning events for these families i.e. baby showers, birthday parties, graduation parties, holiday events was an ongoing meaningful way for me to contribute to the needs of this community as well as the smaller day to day ways like playdates and dinners and childcare and helping clean their homes etc.  This humbling and enriching relational experience, just solidified my joy to help others.  More specifically with finding opportunities to improve health as well as encourage and bring hope. To be a positive impact and improve the overall quality of others’ lives and help them find their full potential!

By the time I was 30 years old, I decided it was time for me to take better care of myself and my own health and get in shape again so I re-entered the life of fitness.

Over the last dozen plus years now, I have been a member at a number of different gyms, participated in a wide variety of classes of different sorts as well as crossfit.  Additionally, I took on running, walking and biking outside the gym.  Being immersed in the fitness industry as well as facing my own set of health struggles over the years has naturally educated me more and more about exercise, nutrition and health, the importance of maintaining it and the impact it has on our lives.  I have also discovered through enduring my own difficulties that regardless of the situation or condition, stepping outside my comfort zone, embracing challenges, persevering, and finding ways to continue to move forward to maintain and improve my health is where the real change and growth begins, right? Outside your comfort zone! There, the possibilities are endless!

In the fall of 2020, our 4 children all began to going to school.  This is when I decided it was time for me to return to my natural born passion…exercise and fitness.  I entered the National Academy of Sports and Medicine program where I completed courses and received both my personal training and nutritional coach certifications.

I love to coach, encourage, and motivate.  I have a strong desire to find ways to help others improve their overall quality of life and more specifically, physical health.  And since I love exercise, there is nothing more I would rather do than help others through the realm of fitness!  I am a firm believer in maintaining and improving ones’ well-being and reaching their potential and living life to the fullest!

I can design a workout plan that best fits you and where you are at.  You’ll have the pleasure of me alongside you to coach, teach, correct, motivate, encourage, to push and challenge you, provide accountability, and be your biggest cheerleader!  And have fun along the way!
